On September 15, Co-op members and customers across Western Canada filled their tanks in support of Fuel Good Day. As the initiative celebrates 10 years of giving back, Co-op is pleased to announce that 2026 has resulted in the most successful campaign on record!
With the help of patrons across the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS), this year’s Fuel Good Day raised more than $875,000, eclipsing 2025’s record of $795,000. As a result of local Co-op support and public generosity, nearly 200 organizations will benefit and receive financial assistance toward their specific cause.
“The success of Fuel Good Day, which hit a new high this year, is the result of the collective effort of so many across the CRS,” said Heather Ryan, CEO, FCL. “Thank you to every single person who participated, whether as a team member at a local Co-op stepping up to serve our members and customers on this special day, or as a member yourself by filling your tank.”
Every year on Fuel Good Day, Co-op donates a minimum of five cents per litre of fuel sold at participating Co-op gas bars to registered charities or non-profit organizations in their local community or respective trading areas.
To date, Fuel Good Day has raised nearly $6.5 million, benefitting thousands of local organizations across Western Canada. These funds directly support local clubs, volunteer fire departments, youth sports, daycare centres, food banks and animal shelters, amongst other causes near and dear to the hearts of those across Western Canada.
