Co-op donating $100K to Red Cross Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal
March 4, 2022
Together, FCL and local Co-ops across Western Canada are donating $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal to aid relief efforts in Ukraine.
Co-ops have been a long-time partner of the Canadian Red Cross because of their commitment to support communities in times of crisis. Contributing to this Appeal is a way that the CRS can support our broader global community during this difficult time.
“FCL, on behalf of the Co-operative Retailing System, made a long-term commitment to the Canadian Red Cross so that we could lend a hand to Western Canadian communities in times of need,” said FCL CEO Scott Banda. “Now, members of our global community are in urgent need of help and we are pleased to continue to offer support for the people and communities impacted by the conflict in Ukraine.”
In February, the federal government announced it will match individual donations to the Red Cross in aid of Ukraine up to $10 million. Those wishing to help support relief efforts are encouraged to donate to the Canadian Red Cross Humanitarian Crisis Appeal.
