Heather Ryan is Vice-President Human Resources for Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL).  

As a member of FCL’s Senior Leadership Team, Heather contributes to the overall strategic direction of FCL, fosters productive relationships within the business, co-operative and local communities, and collaboratively leads initiatives and relationships within the Co-operative Retailing System. Heather provides strategic leadership and direction for all FCL’s operations and regions in the areas of Talent Acquisition, Talent Integration, Performance Management, Total Rewards, Succession Planning, Workforce Planning, Diversity and Inclusion, Organizational Learning, Employee Relations and Advisory Services.  

Heather joined FCL in September 2013 as Director Human Resources Advisory Services and was appointed Vice-President Human Resources on Nov. 1, 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan and she received her Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation in 2002.

Prior to joining FCL, Heather was employed by the Saskatchewan Research Council as the Manager of Organizational Development, and prior to that she worked at POS Bio-Sciences where she held various positions including Vice-President Operations & Corporate Affairs, Director of Business Development & Human Resources and Human Resources Manager. Heather also worked with Corning Cable Systems as a Human Resources Specialist and was previously employed with FCL from 1996 to 2000 in the positions of Human Resources Training Officer and Human Resources Officer.

Heather was a sessional lecturer at the Edwards School of Business in the Organizational Development Department from 2006 until 2014. She has also served as a board member with both the Agriculture Council of Saskatchewan and FoodTech Canada, and currently serves as a board member for the Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation as well as the Co-operative Superannuation Society (CSS).

Heather and her husband Sean have two children, a son (Jack) and a daughter (Rylee).
