Robert Grimsrud, K.C. of Estevan, SK, was first elected to the FCL Board in 2019. He is one of the directors elected by District 3 which is comprised of 44 member co-ops in Saskatchewan. Robert has primary responsibility for 14 member co-ops.

As an FCL Director, Robert is a member of the Board’s Governance and Sustainability Committees. He previously served as Vice-Chair of the Board and Chair of the Governance, Human Resources and Sustainability Committees.

Robert was on the Board of Southern Plains Co-op (formerly Estevan Co-op) for 24 years, retiring from the position in 2019. He served as President and Chair of the Board from 1997 to 2019. Robert previously served as a Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Delegate, representing his district for three years.

Robert has completed all three levels of the Director Development Program and received the Co-opD.D designation through the Canadian Centre for the Study of Co-operatives and Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy.

Robert attended the University of Saskatchewan where he earned degrees from the College of Commerce and College of Law. Robert has been employed as a lawyer by Legal Aid Saskatchewan since 2000 and is currently Vice President, Legal Services and General Counsel for the organization. Robert received the King’s Counsel (K.C.) designation in 2025.

Robert and his wife, Pauline, have been involved with a number of non-profit and volunteer organizations in their community over the years.

Robert grew up on the family farm south of Torquay, SK. Robert and his family now operate the farm, which has been in the family for over 115 years and has been a certified organic operation since 1999.

Robert and Pauline are happy to play an active role in the lives of their sons, Axel and Justis, their daughters-in-law and their four grandchildren.
