Matthew Heide of Boissevain, MB, was first elected to the FCL Board in 2024. He is one of the directors elected by District 5 which is comprised of 30 member co-ops in Manitoba. Matthew has primary responsibility for twelve member co-ops which are located in the southwestern part of the District.
As an FCL Director, Matthew is a member of the Board’s Sustainability Committee.
Matthew was a member of the Boundary Co-op Board of Directors for 19 years and served as the Board’s Chair for 15 years. Matthew has completed his level 2 of the Director Development Program offered by FCL.
Matthew graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Diploma in Agriculture, with a livestock major. While working and growing up on a cattle farm in southwest Manitoba, Matthew also worked as a crop research technician across the prairies for nine years.
Matthew finds joy in helping others, so he currently is on the executive board of a private high school in southern Manitoba. He currently is the co-chair of his local church board and has been managing a local children's bible camp for 14 years in two separate terms since 2003.
Currently, Matthew and his wife Heather reside west of Boissevain, MB while operating a sheep livestock operation. Matthew and Heather enjoy spending time with their two grown children. They enjoy camping, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
