Jocelyn VanKoughnet of Carman, MB, was first elected to the FCL Board in 2012. She is one of the directors elected by District 5 which is comprised of 31 member co-ops in Manitoba. Jocelyn has primary responsibility for fourteen member co-ops which are located in the southwestern part of the District.

As an FCL Director, Jocelyn is a member of the Board’s Sustainability Committee.

Jocelyn was a member of the Carman Co-op Board of Directors from 2004 until 2016 and served as the Board’s Secretary for seven years.

In April 2014, Jocelyn was elected as a Manitoba Region Director to the Board of The Co-operators Group. From 2015 to 2018 she served as Chair of the Board of the Manitoba Cooperative Association.

Jocelyn was born and raised in Brandon. After high school, she attended the University of Manitoba and received a degree in Human Ecology. Prior to relocating with her family to Carman, she was co-owner and manager of an insurance brokerage in Brandon.

Jocelyn has been active in her community. She has served on the Public Schools Finance Board of Manitoba, the Board of Skate Canada Manitoba and the Central Manitoba Choral Association.

Jocelyn and her husband, Brent, operate a grain farm and an agricultural research and consulting business. They have two children, a son in Winnipeg and a daughter in St. John’s, NL. Jocelyn enjoys live theatre and the arts, skiing with her family, and early morning paddles in her kayak.
