Statement: Aug. 10 safety incident at the CRC

The Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) had a fire in Section I of the refinery at approximately 11:40 a.m. today. The fire was contained and extinguished quickly. Most importantly, all personnel are safe and accounted for. The CRC safety systems worked as intended and the incident did not pose a threat to the community or surrounding neighbourhoods and businesses. The incident is now under investigation and CRC will provide an update at the conclusion of the investigation.
