Flaring complete at propane plant

Flaring at Federated Co-operatives Limited’s bulk propane plant near Estevan, Sask., was completed at noon on Monday without incident.

The flaring began on the morning of Aug. 4, part of an emergency response plan to empty the tanks after a third-party carrier inadvertently offloaded anhydrous ammonia into storage on Aug. 3.

A small amount of the mixture remains in storage and will be flared later this week under the supervision of an emergency response crew.
