Valerie Pearson

Valerie Pearson of Saskatoon, Sask., was first elected to the Board of FCL in 2015. She represents the 14 retail co-operatives in FCL’s District 10, which covers west-central Saskatchewan.

As an FCL Director, Valerie serves on the Human Resources and Sustainability Committees. In addition, she is the Board’s representative to Co-operative Superannuation Society (CSS) Pension Plan and the Saskatchewan Co-operative Association.

Valerie was a member of the Saskatoon Co-op Board of Directors for 12 years, serving as the Board’s President for five years.

Valerie’s education includes a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Certificate in Business Administration from the University of Saskatchewan. She is a Professional Agrologist, licensed through the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. Over the years, Valerie has taken many training courses and seminars.

Valerie currently is the Executive Director and Registrar of the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. Her past work experience includes Provincial Manager for the Canadian Red Cross, Executive Director of the Saskatchewan 4-H Council and Manager with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool.

Valerie’s current professional and community involvements include board member of the Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame and the Saskatchewan Co-operative Association. Past involvements include President of the Canadian 4-H Council and public representative on the Discipline Committee for the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association, Chair of the Agriculture Council of Saskatchewan, and Board member of the Prince Albert and Saskatchewan Chambers of Commerce.

Valerie and her husband Jamie reside in Saskatoon.
