Valerie Pearson of Saskatoon, SK, was first elected to the Board of FCL in 2015. She is one of the directors elected by District 4 which is comprised of 38 member co-ops in Saskatchewan. Valerie has primary responsibility for 12 member co-ops.
As an FCL Director, Valerie is a member of the Governance, Sustainability and Credentials Committees.
Valerie was a member of the Saskatoon Co-op Board of Directors for 12 years, serving as the Board’s President for five years.
Valerie’s education includes a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a Certificate in Business Administration from the University of Saskatchewan. She is a Professional Agrologist, licensed through the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. Over the years, Valerie has taken many training courses and seminars.
Valerie is currently the Executive Director and Registrar of the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. Her past work experience includes Provincial Manager for the Canadian Red Cross, Executive Director of the Saskatchewan 4-H Council and Manager with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool.
Valerie’s current professional and community involvement includes Vice Chair of Agrologists Agronomes Canada. Past involvements include President of the Canadian 4-H Council, Prince Albert Regional Development Authority and Saskatchewan Triathlon, public representative on the Discipline Committee for the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association, Chair of the Agriculture Council of Saskatchewan and Professional Conduct Committee of the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists (SIA), board member of the Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame, Prince Albert and Saskatchewan Chambers of Commerce, and member of the Discipline Committee (SIA).
