John Rudyk of Fisher Branch, Man., was first elected to the Board of Federated Co-operatives Limited in 2014. He is one of the directors elected by District 5 which is comprised of 31 member co-ops in Manitoba. John has primary responsibility for thirteen member co-ops which are located in the eastern part of the District.
As an FCL Director, John is a member of the Board’s Audit Committee. In addition, he is the Board’s representative to the Manitoba Cooperative Association, The Co-operators and the Wasagaming Foundation.
John was first elected to the Board of Ukrainian Farmers Co-op in 1994 and has served as President of its Board since 1996. He has taken numerous management training seminars.
John owns and operates a family farm. He has previously owned and operated a number of outfitting and vacation companies and worked as a Legislative Constituency Assistant, surveyor, claims adjuster, railroad carman/welder and heavy equipment operator.
John has always taken a very active role in his community. He currently acts as a Director on the Board of the Ukrainian National Home Association, and is a member of the Fisher Branch Chamber of Commerce. John has recently retired from the Manitoba Municipal Board. In the past, he also served as a Director on the Fisher Game and Fish Association, the Northern Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club and the Crown Lands Appeal Board.
John and his wife, Donna, have three children.
