FCL invites applications for the position of Senior Project Manager in our home office located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
The incumbent is responsible for the overall management of the initiation, execution, control and completion of the FCL technology-related projects, ensuring consistency with the organization’s strategy, commitments, and goals. The Senior Project Manager (PM) is responsible to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to set deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.
Reporting to the Director, Project Management Office, responsibilities for this position include the following:
- Define and manage project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Develop, manage and validate full-scale project plans and associated communication documents. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely manner. Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders. Management of project inter-dependencies including reporting on exposures resulting with inter-project dependencies. Management of the integrated project plan and completion of project deliverables to approved project budgets and schedules. Development of plans to manage activities and ensure required controls are in place to complete the project deliverables within financial targets. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, project logs and presentations. Development and management of the project scope. Identify and manage change requests that impact project scope, schedule and budget, ensuring the update of related project documents/artifacts. Management of project risks and issues and implementing appropriate risk management strategies. Perform project closure, document lessons learned; develop post implementation plan and hand over to operation team. Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle. Effectively communicate with all levels within FCL and outside of the organization as needed. Define vendor/software selection approach and participate in selection process. Participation in steering committee and stakeholder meetings, providing regular project status reports as required by sponsors and PMO methodology.
- Manage effective relationships with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and project stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have a University Degree majoring in Computer Science or related field. 8+ years of direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of project life cycle and execution. PMP certification is strongly preferred. Strong familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project. Demonstrated experience in people management. Working knowledge of various technology systems such as finance, payroll, time and attendance, master data management, retail merchandising systems, and infrastructure related projects.
