COVID-19 Supplier update

April 30, 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to have a significant impact on individuals, businesses and communities across the globe. We’re prioritizing the health and safety of our employees and communities while providing local Co-ops and their customers across Western Canada with a reliable supply of essential goods.

What we’re doing to stay safe

As we do this, we’re following the guidance of government and public health authorities to ensure we do our part to flatten the curve and reduce the spread and exposure of the virus. We’ve taken measures to ensure physical distancing, increased the frequency of sanitizing and cleaning each location and delivery vehicle, and encouraged our team members to stay home when they are feeling unwell, self-isolate at home and seek testing if they are have been exposed to or are showing symptoms of COVID-19.

The safety of our employees, customers and communities also depends on the actions our suppliers are taking to follow these health and safety measures at your facilities and with your teams. We expect that our suppliers and those visiting our facilities are also following these guidelines.

Serving our communities, together

We recognize that this pandemic has also had a significant impact on our suppliers. We’ve been preparing for the impacts of this pandemic over the past months and have a team in place to help FCL quickly adapt to the changes in our environment. Our goal is to continue our operations so we can safely deliver essential goods and services to the over 600 Communities we serve across Western Canada, and we rely on a consistent allocation of products and services from our suppliers to achieve that goal.

Staying connected through these rapidly changing times is more important than ever. We’re committed to keeping you updated about any changes to our operations or processes that impact you, and we ask that you continue to update us as you encounter impacts to your operations.

Although there will be significant impacts from COVID-19, we believe we’ve taking the right steps to ensure that our co-operative remains strong and financially stable. We’ve always taken a long-term approach to our business because we’re focused on serving local co-ops and communities across Western Canada into the next generation, not just the next quarter.
