Gerard Muyres

Gerard Muyres is Vice-President of Retail Operations for Federated Co‑operatives Limited (FCL).

As Vice-President, Gerard is responsible for integrating the activities of FCL with those of more than180 member retail co-operatives. This includes administration of FCL’s regional offices in Edmonton, Calgary, Regina, Saskatoon and Winnipeg.

Gerard began his career with the Co-operative Retailing System in Nipawin in 1977 and demonstrated his abilities to motivate teams and lead positive change in various roles with progressively greater responsibilities. He has extensive retail management experience, leading co-ops which varied in size from sales of $2 million and 10 employees to sales of $250 million and over 800 employees. Throughout his career, Gerard has demonstrated his ability to lead cultural and business practice changes, and demonstrates an impressive breadth and depth of knowledge of the CRS in general and retail operations in particular. Gerard was appointed to his current position in March 2011.

Gerard has pursued a variety of professional development opportunities, including completing a Business Administration Certificate from Dalhousie University, completion of the Retail Marketing Strategies Program at Babson College (Boston, USA) and the Management Development Program at the University of Saskatchewan. Gerard also attended the World Business Forum in New York City in 2008 and in 2012.

Gerard and his wife Yvonne have two married children and six grandchildren.
