Cal Fichter

Vice-President, Energy

Cal Fichter is Vice-President Energy for Federated Co‑operatives Limited (FCL).

As Vice-President, Cal is responsible for FCL’s Energy Products and Propane Departments, as well as CRC’s Supply and Distribution Department and FCL’s Crude Oil production. Total sales for these departments in 2017 amounted to $4.6 billion. The business unit is responsible for the marketing, procurement and distribution of these departments’ products – for the Co-operative Retailing System and others – as well as lube oil production, biofuels regulations compliance, and industry exchange and terminalling agreements.

Prior to being appointed to the position of Vice-President Energy in September 2013, Cal spent over 32 years working at the Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) in Regina where he held a variety of positions including Plant Engineer, Supervisor Plant Engineering, Operations Engineer, Operations Superintendent, and Manager Supply and Distribution.

Over his career, Cal has built a series of well-established relationships at all levels and in all sections of the energy industry in Western Canada. Cal is a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Fuels Association.

Cal graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1981 and is a registered Professional Engineer, and has completed the Executive Development Program from the University of Calgary.

Cal and his wife Cheryl have one son and one daughter.
