Valerie Pearson of Saskatoon, Sask., was elected to the Board of FCL in 2015. She represents the 15 retail co-operatives in FCL’s district 10, which covers west-central Saskatchewan.
As an FCL Director, Valerie serves as the Saskatoon Region Chair and participates on the Board’s Governance and Audit Committees. In addition, she is the Board’s representative to the Saskatchewan Co-operative Association.
Valerie was a member of the Saskatoon Co-op Board of Directors for 12 years, serving as the Board’s President for four years.
Valerie’s education includes a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Certificate in Business Administration from the University of Saskatchewan. She is a Professional Agrologist, licensed through the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. Over the years, Valerie has taken many training courses and seminars.
Valerie currently works as a Manager for the Canadian Red Cross. Her past work experience includes Executive Director of the Saskatchewan 4-H Council and in Member Services with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool.
Valerie’s current professional and community involvements include Chair of the Professional Conduct Committee for the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists, Board member and Past President of the Canadian 4-H Council and public representation on the Discipline Committee for the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association. Past involvements include Chair of the Agriculture Council of Saskatchewan, Executive Board member of the Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame and Board member of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce.
Valerie and her husband Jamie reside in Saskatoon.
