Ryan Anderson of Melfort, Sask., was first elected to the Board of Federated Co-operatives Limited in 2014. He represents the 16 retail co-operatives in FCL’s district 12, which covers northeast Saskatchewan.
As an FCL Director, Ryan Chairs the Board’s Audit Committee and he is a member of the Credentials Committee. In addition, he is the Board’s representative to the Centre for the Study of Co-operatives.
Ryan was first elected to the Board of Fairy Glen Co-op in 1988 and has served as President of its Board since 1997.
Ryan has a Diploma in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan. He has also taken Financial Literacy seminars from the University of Regina, Brown Governance and the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary; and a Corporate Governance seminar from Brown Governance. In addition, he received his ICD.D designation after successfully completing the Institute of Corporate Directors training in 2008 – Directors Education Program (DEP) for Directors of Large Companies/Organizations, offered by Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.
Ryan is currently in the process of winding down a family farming operation. He previously worked as an Adjuster for Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation and as a Crop/Plant Health Inspector for Agriculture Canada.
In the past, Ryan has served as a Director for Viterra, Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, the Flax Council of Canada and a local church.
Ryan and his wife Dianne have two children.
